Vacuum Coating

Fat addition to pellets was previously done in standard drum coaters under atmospheric pressure. It was possible to add minor amounts of liquid to pellets, but some of the problems were uneven dispersion onto the pellets or the pellets had a wet surface and therefore started “sweating” during storage, etc.

Late 90’s the Forberg® RVC (rotating twin shaft vacuum coater) came on the market as an answer to the challenge of creating least possible leak points. The new and innovative technology gave more advantages than the existing technology. The compact rotating twin shaft vacuum coater gave room for high production rate and simplified the cleaning of the process equipment. CIP.

A special vacuum core coating process allows for a deep penetration of fat and equal distribution of additives such as antioxidants, medicine, vitamins and flavours.
